Vernier is a vector editing toolkit for QGIS. The toolbox adds a one-click snapping profile, a topology validator that outputs styled error layers, topology-aware Remove Close Vertices, Find Duplicate Geometries, polygon splitting to exact target areas, polygon centerline (medial axis) extraction, styled DXF/DWG import and DXF export with labels, multi-layer KMZ export with label placemarks, attribute and spatial joins, quick symbology templates, versioned autosave backups with a restore browser, and a live area readout for selected polygons. CAD Mode (off by default) adds a typed command bar with autocomplete, a dark canvas with a scalable grid, and a live status strip. It follows the workspace conventions shared by AutoCAD, BricsCAD, ZWCAD, GstarCAD, DraftSight and other DWG/DXF software, and the import/export tools read and write drawings from any of them. EXTERNAL DEPENDENCIES - all core tools run on a stock QGIS with no extra packages. Only these optional tools need more: * DXF import/export needs the 'ezdxf' Python package. The plugin offers a one-click, consent-based install into a private folder of the QGIS user profile - never into the QGIS installation, and never without asking. The profile folder is used so the package survives plugin updates. It can also be installed manually with 'python -m pip install ezdxf' from the OSGeo4W Shell on Windows or your system Python on Linux/macOS. * Centerline extraction uses 'shapely', which already ships with QGIS. * DWG (not DXF) import needs the free ODA File Converter, installed separately by the user. The plugin only locates it on disk and never downloads it.
