SkyStitch - Drone Orthomosaic QGIS 4 compatibility

Not QGIS 4 ready Active

Not yet — the latest version declares max QGIS version 3.99.0, so it is not offered to QGIS 4 users.

From drone photos to a finished map — a fast 2D orthomosaic, or full 3D photogrammetry (orthophoto, DSM, DTM, point cloud, 3D mesh) — all inside QGIS. Free, open-source, and your imagery stays on your machine.

About

SkyStitch brings drone mapping right into QGIS — point it at a folder of GPS-tagged photos and get map-ready results without leaving QGIS or paying for the cloud. Two engines, one plugin: - Fast 2D — stitch a single georeferenced orthomosaic (GeoTIFF) in seconds. Great for quick previews and flat sites. - Full 3D — real SfM/MVS photogrammetry on a local NodeODM node: a true orthophoto plus DSM, DTM/DEM, point cloud (LAZ) and a textured 3D mesh (OBJ), straight onto the canvas. Why you'll like it: - 100% free & open-source — and your imagery never leaves your machine. - No cloud, no subscriptions, no Docker to wrestle — install one lightweight local engine (e.g. the free WebODM native installer) and run everything from QGIS. - Survey-grade when you need it — drop in GCPs for centimetre-level accuracy. - Background processing with a live log, progress bar and one-click Test Connection. Requires QGIS 3.16 or newer.
