HydroNet Studio QGIS 4 compatibility

QGIS 4 ready Active

Yes — HydroNet Studio supports QGIS 4 (declared max version 4.99.0).

[EN] It extracts a topographically consistent drainage network from a DTM/DEM using six flow-routing models: D8, D-Infinity (D∞), Rho8, MFD, MD-Infinity (MD∞), and DEMON stream-tube. It incorporates configurable, rigorous criteria for channel initiation—based on drainage area, the slope-area relationship, SPI, and TWI—maintains main-channel continuity even in distributed-flow models, calculates the network's hierarchical ordering, and automatically applies cartographic styling to the lines.

About

[EN] HydroNet Studio combines Priority-Flood with six flow routing models—D8, D∞, Rho8, MFD, MD∞, and DEMON stream-tube—to derive a topographically consistent drainage network from a DTM/DEM. The engine supports configurable channel initiation criteria based on drainage area, the slope-area relationship, the Stream Power Index (SPI), and the Topographic Wetness Index (TWI). In fractional flow methods, routing preserves the model-defined pair of receiving cells and maintains a continuous main axis without introducing artificial branching or uncontrolled cumulative dispersion. The resulting network can be analyzed using Strahler, Shreve, Horton, Gravelius/Hack, and topological ordering systems, with automatic assignment of line styles and widths based on the hierarchy. Processing runs in a separate thread, keeping the interface responsive and leaving the main QGIS window unaffected.
