HMS Extractor permite leer proyectos HEC-HMS, identificar y procesar elementos de un archivo .basin, generar shapefiles con atributos (incluyendo parámetros hidrológicos de subcuencas), reconstruir conexiones hidráulicas, crear flowpaths y cargar automáticamente los shapefiles del Background Layer definidos en el .basin. Incluye simbología, orden de capas y parámetros completos por subcuenca para análisis dentro de QGIS.
